今朝のトレンドは「ドミノ・ピザ」さ～！

今朝はね、”ドミノピザ”がGoogleのトレンドに上がってきているさ～。なんでかって言うと、日本国内で172店舗の閉鎖が発表されたからなわけ。
ドミノ・ピザはここ数年で急速に店舗を増やしてきたんだけど、ここにきて戦略を見直してるってことさ〜。

だけど、ちょっと待ってね～。おじいが気になったのは、この閉鎖のニュースと同じタイミングで、投資の神様ウォーレン・バフェットがドミノ・ピザの株を買ったって話が出てきたことさ～。
こんな時に買うってことは、何かしらの狙いがあるはずなわけ。

バフェットは何を見てドミノ・ピザに投資したのか？

バフェットの会社「バークシャー・ハサウェイ」は、2024年第3四半期に約5億4900万ドル（約820億円）分のドミノ・ピザの株を購入したさ～。
それなのに、店舗を閉鎖してるとなると、「大丈夫なのか？」って思う人もいるかもしれないね〜。

でも、おじいが思うに、バフェットは短期的な店舗閉鎖をマイナスと見てないはずさ～。
むしろ、不採算店舗を整理することで、利益率を上げる戦略に期待してるんじゃないかな～。
さらに、ドミノ・ピザはデリバリーのデジタル化が進んでいて、IT技術を活用した効率化が進んでるさ～。
こういう「今後伸びる企業」に投資するのがバフェットの得意技なわけ。

日本国内172店舗閉鎖はどれくらいの規模？

今回の閉鎖される店舗数は約1,000店舗のうち172店舗だから、**全体の約17%**なわけ。これって大きいのか？小さいのか？ちょっと比較してみようね〜。

実は、2015年にマクドナルドも業績不振で約3,000店舗のうち131店舗を閉鎖してるんだけど、このときの閉鎖率は約4.3%だったさ〜。
それに比べると、ドミノ・ピザの閉鎖率はかなり高めなわけ。
でも、マクドナルドはそこから既存店舗の改装やメニュー戦略の変更を進めて、今では店舗数をほぼ回復してるさ〜。

つまり、ドミノ・ピザも一時的に縮小するけど、そこから再成長する可能性が十分にあるってことなわけ。
バフェットもこの成長を見越して投資したんじゃないかと思うさ〜。

おじいの期待とメッセージ

おじいの見立てでは、ドミノ・ピザは今「事業の整理整頓」の時期なわけ。ムダをなくして、デジタル化や効率化を進めて、また強くなっていくはずさ〜。
バフェットもそこに期待してるだろうし、マクドナルドも似たような道を歩んで復活したからね～。

沖縄にもドミノ・ピザの店舗があるけど、影響を受けるかどうかはまだわからないさ～。
でも、どんな企業でも時代に合わせた変化は必要なわけ。ドミノ・ピザもこの先、より強くなって帰ってくるとおじいは信じてるさ〜。
